SHANGHAI (AP) — Defending champion and world record holder Liam Tancock has won the 50-meter backstroke, giving Britain its second gold medal in as many nights at the world swimming championships.
Tancock finished in 24.50 seconds in the non-Olympic event. Camille Lacourt of France took silver in 24.57 seconds and Gerhard Zandberg of South Africa the bronze in 24.66.
Rebecca Adlington gave Britain its first gold in the pool on Saturday in the women's 800.
