    Catalans cashing in on India
Ever since Argentine wizard Lionel Messi and his Barca team mates took the soccer world by storm with their on-field wizardry, the football philosophy of Barcelona has mesmerised critics and fans all over the globe.

Now the world and European champions are bringing the 'Barca way' to India through their FCBEscola coaching camps, the first of which is being held in the capital from December 30 to January 4. Josep Moratella is leading the training assisted by two Spanish coaches and the former Barcelona player is excited about the future prospects of the talent development venture.

"We are very proud and excited to be here. There is a lot of passion for the game over here. We are bringing our knowledge over here. How we teach the kids,

how we coach them, our training method, are totally similar to what we have in Barcelona and our academy La Masia," Moratella told The Pioneer. "We are extremely positive about the future prospects although it is too early to comment on the long term effect," he added.

Proper coaching is an essential ingredient for developing world class players and the former central defender asserted that this vital area has been taken care of as well. "Before starting the camp we had a two day long clinic for coaches. We think the important thing is instill our method in the coaches. So we are taking care to not just train the kids, but also train the coaches which is important for the new generations in India," he stated. "If the coaches are good, then the players will also be good."

Talking about the stupendous success of Bracelona in recent years, Moratella said that it has not been achieved overnight, but is a result of long term planning. "It is really difficult to explain our method. Now we are getting popular because we are winning everything. But this is result of long term planning," he said. "That is why we think it is important to train the coaches in India to ensure proper long term development."
