"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work, and the only way to do great work is to love what you do." - Steve Jobs, 2005, Stanford University.
Today is my last day at CBS Interactive and CNET. I've accepted an offer to write about mobile technology--what I've come to realize is my passion in this slice of the world--for the fine folks at ContentNext Media, who operate PaidContent.org.
It's been a pretty crazy ride on Second Street over the past five years, one that involved everything from being at the center of a boardroom scandal that led to the passage of a federal law, the launch of the most important computer released in the last two decades, a shotgun marriage to one of the oldest and most respected media companies on the planet, the worst economic downturn in several generations, and what surely must qualify as part-ownership of the House of Shields based on such a substantial investment.
Thank you for your support, your criticism, and your attention. Over the past five years the number of people and organizations writing about the tech industry has quintupled, yet CNET has continued to grow as people seek trusted information, solid writing, and pictures of new airplanes.
For the most part, it's been fun, and the beauty of this industry is that there's always something newer and more fun around the corner. I hope you can make room for another site in your tech news diet and hope you continue to support the excellent professionals that run this site.
