People people people!!! Please. Linux vs. Windows is such an age old battle story...
Every OS has their PROS and CONS. There are mix people out there who are simple and advance.
Windows 7 is awesome, but has its own follies: System hogs, unstability, some reboots etc etc etc.
Linux is great but has its own follies: not many supported, very technical, lots of switches..etc etc etc..
From a consumer point of view, the vast majority is: Windows or Mac is a better choice due to ease of functionality to start with, updates, and vast majority of 3rd party software made to work. Linux fails in this because the the initial setup, updates and other advance features scares a typical end user who are simple minded.
From a tech and geek's point of view, Linux is the choice. Free, opensource, customizable, and advance.
I am a Systems Admin and I see both good and bads for all. I like both Windows and Linux. Apple...eh...let's just say, Apple is toy and stay as a toy. I personally have worked on Windows and Linux system working in the same environment. So please, stop the Windows and Linux bashing. Both system can work together in harmony with each other.
Now...think about this....if all end users were advanced like us geeks, many help desk jobs and IT Support jobs would be gone and non-existent. We're back to flipping burgers for a living.
