Pakistan man gets 60 years in British boy kidnapping case

A court in Pakistan has convicted a Pakistani man for his role in last year’s kidnapping of a five—year—old British boy and sentenced him to 60 years in prison.

Court official Fayaz Haider said on Friday that the court also ordered that all belongings and property of the kidnapper, Imran Husain, be seized.

Mr. Haider says the court handed down the verdict on Thursday in Rawalpindi, a city just outside the capital, Islamabad. He had no more details.

The British boy, Sahil Saeed Naqqash, was kidnapped from his grandparents’ house in central Pakistan in March 2010. The case got considerable media attention in the United Kingdom.

The boy was released unharmed after two weeks.
