Four miners are believed to be trapped at a mine in the Swansea Valley.
Emergency services were called to the Gleision Colliery, near Cilybebyll, Pontardawe.
The alarm was raised at 09:21 BST on Thursday.
The small hillside mine has been in operation since 1993.
