Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell has been arrested on suspicion of a sexual offence involving a young girl.
The 46-year-old, who plays Kevin Webster in the soap, was arrested at his home in Hale, Greater Manchester at 20:00 BST on 30 September, police said.
Mr Le Vell was released on bail until 16 November pending further inquiries.
Police said the arrest followed a report of an historical offence made to them on 29 September.
