Three major road accidents claimed at least 56 lives across China on a single day, including a collision between a bus and a car on an expressway in which 35 people were killed.
In north China’s port city of Tianjin on Friday, a bus flipped over after crashing into a car, killing 35 people and injuring 18 others.
The bus was speeding and many passengers were thrown out of the vehicle when it hit the car and rolled over, state-run Xinhua news agency quoted an official with the Tianjin Municipal Public Security Bureau as saying. In the second accident, at least 10 people were killed and another 19 were injured in a 24-car pileup in east China’s Anhui province, traffic police said.
