JEDDAH: The Court of Grievances in Jeddah upheld an appeal by the winner of the Electoral District No. 3 in Jeddah and affirmed his electoral victory on Tuesday.
Abdullah Al-Muhammadi, the winner from the constituency, had his result invalidated by the Municipal Elections Complaints Committee following complaints from voters that their polling booth was shifted to another place without any prior warning.
He then successfully appealed to the Court of Grievances.
When the results were announced, Al-Muhammadi won with 381 votes out of a total of 700 votes cast on Sept. 29.
The winners from other electoral districts in Jeddah include Bassam Akhdar, Abdul Aziz Al-Sorae, Khaled Bajammal, Fouad Mirdad, Maher Al-Harbi and Abdullah Al-Turkistani.
