    An Introduction to the Enneagram

    Jerome Wagner - An Introduction to the Enneagram

    he Enneagram is a diagram that represents nine basic types of human personality and the relationships between them.

    Each of these types-or styles-relates to a point on the diagram, and is summed up in a single word.

    They are:

    * Good
    * Loving
    * Effective
    * Original
    * Wise
    * Loyal
    * Joyful
    * Powerful
    * Peaceful

    Probing exercises will help you connect your own personality to one of these styles.

    Then, each chapter describes one style in detail, covering such issues as:

    * Positive and negative traits.
    * Core values, ideas, and assumptions that shape your view of the world.
    * How and why you move toward a different personality style when you're under stress-and when you're relaxed and feeling in control.
    * Negative and positive changes you may make under stress.
    * Negative and positive changes you make when you're feeling in control.

    The insights you gain by understanding each personality type and how it relates to the others will put you in touch with facets of your inner self that you've repressed.

    You'll learn why you've repressed them, the painful results of that repression, and how to stop the repression and give them full expression.

    With this knowledge, you can allow yourself to develop all aspects of your being, and live a fuller, richer, more satisfying and effective life.
