Prof N Balakrishnan Nair passes away
Thiruvananthapuram: Former chairman of Kerala Science Technology and Environment committee and founder head of the Kerala University Aquatic Biology Fisheries department, Prof. Dr N Balakrishanan Nair passed away on Wednesday at a private hospital here. He was under treatment for old age disease for quite some time. He was honored with Padma Sri in 1984 and had worked as ex-officio secretary of the state government during 1986-92 and also worked as the chairman of science techno and environment committee.
After completing higher studies from Britain, Scandinavia, he had worked as visiting professor in various universities in Germany, Greece, France and South America. He has published more than 400 articles on aquatic science.
