KPCC to set up permanent 'Camp site and Research Centre'





Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will set up a permanent camp site and a Research Centre ''Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Development Studies (RGIDS)'' to mark the 125th anniversary of the Indian National Congress. The foundation stone for the centre would be laid by Defence Minister A K Antony on May 9 near Neyyar Dam in the district, KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala said in a press release here.

The Board of Directors of the centre include Kerala Opposition leader Oomen Chandy, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, P J Kurian, C V Padmarajan, Thennala Balakrishna Pillai, V M Sudheeran, Thalekkunnil Basheer, G Karhikeyan and G Balachandran.

A public function during the occasion would be inaugurated by former Kerala Chief Minister and Congress Working Committee Member K Karunakaran, he added.
