KC(J), (M) merger: Issues to be solved through discussion

Kozhikode: Opposition leader Oommen Chandy said that issues in the UDF regarding merger of Kerala Congress (J) and (M) will be solved through discussions. He was speaking to mediapersons after having discussion with IUML general secretary P K Kunhalikutty here on Tuesday. KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala was also present in the meeting. The meet also discussed about forwarding a compromise formula to solve the issues. A meeting of UDF will be called to discuss the same.

Chennithala and Oommen Chandy were here to attend the Congress hunger strike in front of Comtrust. Meanwhile, K M Mani had withdrawn from the all party delegation which is going to Delhi to meet prime minister. Though he had stated health reasons for the same, it is learnt that he stayed back due to the objection raised by the Congress over the merger issue. An all-party group led by chief minister V S Achuthanandhan is going to Delhi to present various demands of the state.
