Lavlin: CBI seeks circumstantial evidences
Chennai: It is learnt that the CBI is making an effort to collect circumstantial evidence in the SNC Lavlin case. Based on the statement and evidence of Deepak Kumar, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, CBI is moving ahead with such a step. The CBI has also sought details of some incidents regarding Deepak. Deepak had handed over crucial information regarding relations between Dileep Rahulan, who is alleged to be the prime person behind the contract between KSEB and Lavlin, and other accused in the case. Deepak told CBI that he had met Pinarayi along with Dileep in 1996 at Pinarayi's residence in Kannur. CBI also got information that Dileep himself had handed over money to prominent political leaders and all the financial transactions took place at a house in Kollam which was owned by a woman working in Dileep's company in Dubai. Deepak prepared the project report for Rub wood business of Rubco in 90's. Deepak stated that the relations between Pinarayi and Dileep flourished with Rubco dealings.
It is also learnt that one among the accused in Lavlin case, former electricity board member, his three sons and their wives have been working in the companies of Dileep n Australia and Canada. Deepak also gave details of this board member and CPM leader who became a Rajaya Sabha member recently, visited China as the guests of Dileep and stayed in five star hotels. Dileep met Deepak while he was studying in TKM Engineering College, Kollam. Later Dileep's business enterprises flourished in Canada, Australia, South Africa and Dubai. At present he is working as the chairman of Pacific Control based in Dubai.
