Chances for Dengue to spread in 6 districts
Alappuzha: National Communicable Diseases Regulation unit warned that chances are rife for the spread of Dengue fever with internal bleeding in 6 districts in state. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF)may cause even death. According to central heath agency, chances for Dengue are high in district like Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Kannur., Alapuzha and Ernakulum. If strict preventive measures and awareness programmes are not taken, the issue will become dangerous. Mosquito named Aedes Albopictus cause dengue. Four viruses Dengue-1,2,3,4, spread the disease. According to various studies , one of these viruses exist in human body and if zero type of another dengue virus affects that man, it will cause dengue with internal bleeding . It was in 2003 that most cases of dengue was reported in the state, that is 3000. In 2006 Chikunguniya was also spread high in number. It is learnt that chances are rife for spreading of chikunguniya this year too.
