    Kozhikode : Private sector Muthoot Finance Ltd (MFIN) will open 30 more branch offices in the Malabar region of Kerala as part of its expansion drive. Talking to newspersons here MFIN Managing Director George Alexander said the new branches in Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kannur districts will start functioning in six months.

    These would be in addition to the existing 56 branches in the region, he said.

    The group with 4000 employees in 471 offices spread across the state proposed to recruit local people for the new vuntures.

    On gold loan scheme, which he described as unique, he said it offered loan at Rs 12 per cent per annum or only Re 1 a month for Rs 100 to benefit all sections of the clientele, as per the policy of the Centre and the Reserve Bank of India to redue the lending rate.

    Stating that the loan would be available in all the 471 branches in the state, he said the firm had already disbursed Rs 10,000 rpt Rs 10,000 crore through the sceme.
