Eco-magic awareness day on June 20
Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 12 magicians from Kerala will compete with each other on magic shows by sending messages on environmental conservation at Magic Academy here tomorrow. The programme, organised by the Academy in association with the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment will be held as part ofthe environmental awareness day and Eco-Magic competitions, according to a press release here.
The programme would be inaugurated by the Academy's chieftain and connoisseur of magical messages, Gopinath Muthukad.
The competitions for magicians would be held in senior and junior categories. Contestants should incorporate the theme of this year's World Environment Day -- 'Many species one planet, one future' -- in their shows.
The shows should also include messages on the conservation of water bodies, sacred groves, watersheds and forests, proper checking of vehicular exhausts and control on the use of plastic.
Though the competitions were meant only for magicians, public could participate in the awareness talk and film show, the release added.
