    Malappuram: A major mishap was averted when the brake pipe of the Nilambur Shornur fast passenger was found broken on Thursday morning. Police have started investigations. The train with 11 bogies was to leave for Shornur at 6.45 am. It was halted at Mukkatta and on regular check up the train's vacuum brake was found cut in 19 places.
