Kannur : Vice-President Hamid Ansari today presented the 13th A K Nair Memorial Award to T K A Nair, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, here.
Presenting the award, he said a person in the Civil Service should have the qualities of dedication towards the society.
Dr Ansari said Mr Nair was a person who had this quality. The award was in recognition to the services rendered by Mr Nair, he added.
Receiving the award, Mr Nair said motivation of the people was necessary for the bureaucrats.
Kerala Governor R S Gavai, Education Minister M A Baby, Padma Bjhushan C P Krishnan Nair , NMCC President Mahesh Chandra Baliga also attended the function.
The award was jointly given by the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce (NMCC) and the A K Nair Memorial Endowment Committee.
