Chelsea Clinton's wedding Saturday to cost over $4million; President Obama not invited

It is being termed as the first Wedding of the Century. As Chelsea Clinton, 30, who grew up in The White House during father Bill Clinton's controversial reign, gets married Saturday to Marc Mezvinsky, 32, a long time friend and investment banker, at a private estate in a small town called Rhinebeck, 90 miles from New York city , the world will be watching. Wedding insiders say the high profile wedding could cost more than $4 million. Imagine spending $250,000 on flowers. Or $20,000 on a cake. Or $600,00 for tents. or $40,000 for entertainment. That's what Bill and Hillary Clinton - the closest to what america has for royalty - are spending for their daughter's wedding. Most American weddings cost around $20,000.

Details have been notoriously scarce. No one other than the guests know the venue and time for the function. About 400 guests have been chosen for the wedding event - but the exact location of the event was only disclosed to the attendees this week by the wedding planner. And the guests have been told to keep all details top secret until the wedding ceremony.

Invitees include Bill and Hillary Clinton's closest friends, but not all of Clintons' loyal political allies and supporters did make the cut. The reception is limited to 400 guests, a tiny portion of the Clinton's inner circle, so Chelsea has instituted a no-strangers policyshe must actually know every invitee. The former President and the current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton could have had anyone from the world's top elite attend their only daughter's's wedding, but not even President Barack Obama made the guest list for Chelsea Clinton's wedding. Rumored to be on Chelsea's guest list- stars like Tom Hanks, Oprah and Barbara Streisand.

In an interview on ABC's daytime talk show 'The View,' Obama said he wasn't invited because former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wanted the event to be about their daughter and her future husband.

Media personnel from around the world has literally invaded this small rural town in New York, but with the Clinton family not releasing even the smallest details (it will take place on Saturday), has prompted journalists to rely on rumor and speculation as they scramble to find information.

Aerial photos obtained by CBS News show a massive, glass-front tent now up at the site of the big event: the posh, 50-acre estate known as Astor Courts.

Additionally, there are reports that the Federal Aviation Administration has put into place a ban on flights around Astor Courts below 2,000 feet, which goes into effect from 3:00 Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning at 3:30 a.m.

Residents of Rhinebeck, NY are excited about the attention that their picturesque, sleepy town has gotten the last few months. The main street in this small town is decked with best wishes messages to Marc and Chelsea, ballloons, and flowers. They dont know for sure when and where the weeding is going to take place. As the crush of media moves in to Rhinebeck, hotels have booked up, so local residents, looking to cash in, are renting their homes.

'We don't have royalty here like they do in England or other countries. The closest we're going to get is a president's daughter,' says Ira Gutner, owner of Samuel's on Market Street. State police have confirmed they're working closely with the secret service, still only referring to the event as a 'private party.'

Locals expect heavy traffic, plenty of onlookers and of course the media to descend on the town this weekend. But they tell us they don't mind - it's a once in a lifetime event. 'Weekends, weeks, months, years going forward, we will always be remembered as the place Chelsea and Marc got married,' Gutner says.

Since leaving the White House, Chelsea Clinton has largely avoided the limelight, except to campaign for her mother's Presidential campaign in 2008. Chelsea has tried to have her own life away from the glare of celebrity status both her parents enjoy. She is very cloose to both her parents, and even while managing U.S.'s diplomatic efforts, Hillary Clinton found time to be a mother - she was involved in planning her daughter's wedding.
