Thrissur : Jnana Peedom award winner Dr U R Ananthamoorthi made the declaration of the newly formed Socialist Janath (Democratic) Party, in a function organised at the 'Ram Manohar Lohya Nagar'at the Thekkinkad maidan on Saturday.
Dr Anatha Moorthi handed over the New flag of the party to the leader of the party M P Veerendra Kumar.
Party Secretary General K Krishnan Kutty presented the policy resolution. Speaking on the occasion M P Veerendra Kumar said that the aim of the new party was the reunification of the Socialists in India. He also said that the policy of the party would not change for four votes.
Thousands of workers participated. The colour of the flag of the new party is green at the top and bottom and white at the centre with a circle.
The state Election Commission has alloted Banyan tree, as the symbol of the party.
