    Kozhikode: MT Vasudevan Nair said that Malayalee wholeheartedly accepts good writing irrespective of which language the book belong to . He was speaking after inaugurating the book fest organized jointly by Mathrubhumi and Penguin books Near Kozhikode Corporation stadium. Malayalam remains as active language as the Malayaless have kept opened the door of their mind. The books holds a special position even if the attractiveness of visual media lures many. No one can deny the position of visual media but a reader of a book can reject, accept and keep that book close to his heart. No television can give the entertainment getting from this. Writer Anita Nair who delivered the presidential speech said that if one makes an attachment with books, he would never feel alone wherever he goes. A day must be observed for books too in which the people must celebrate it with by exchanging books.
    Chief guest K R Meera said that when Sahithya Akademi president stated that censorship needs for writers , we were wondering where the society moves. The statement was really condemned. MT Vasudevan Nair released the `Volga Tharangangal' the travelogue written by T N Gopakumar by giving a copy to K R Meera. Anitha Nair released the poems collection of T P Rajeevan `Pranaya Sathakam' by giving copy to K J Johnny. Mathrubhumi deputy editor NP Rajendran welcomed the gathering .
