    Educationist C P Sivadas passes away

    Vadakara: Educationist, critic and writer Dr C P Sivadas passed away at the Koyilandi Co-operative hospital on Tuesday evening. He was 70. He was admitted to the hospital after he felt uneasy in his daughter's home. Sivadas was born on September 29, 1940 and began his career as a teacher in 1963. He worked as a English lecturer at the Thevara Sacred Heart College, Government College in Madapallly, Kasargod and Thalassery Brennan College. He retired as the head of English department of Calicut varsity. He worked as professor in Bangalore Regional Institute of English too. He also held posts like dean of languages in Kaladi Sreesankaracharya Sanskrit University and chief for Gandhian Studies in Calicut Varsity. His main narration works were `Bhavavum Bhasahyum'. Aksharalokam, Pashchathya Deepthikal'. He also prepared Shakespeare stories for kids. He translated many renowned books from English to Malayalam and vice versa. Edassery's `Poothappattu' , Shakespear's `The Winter tail' and Mahakavi `Uloor' are some among them.
    He also acted as a Senate member of the Calicut varsity, member of Academic council, Senate member of Kannur varsity and member of Syndicate.

    His wife is Ushakumari , retired teacher and they have two children, C P Satheeh, (lecturer) SN College, Kannur and C P Smitha (assistant executive engineer, KSEB , Kozhikode)
