State mulls strict guidelines on transport of lotteries from other states
Palakkad: The Income tax department is making strict conditions on bringing other states lotteries on the wake of transport of Sikkim lotteries without paying advanced tax though Valayar check post. A decision has been taken to make furnish complete information regarding the tickets at the check post including the number of tickets, its price, prize money, where it was printed, and receipt of advance tax payment etc. Income tax department commissioner B Suman said that a circular would be issued on the same soon. At present only the documents on advance tax payment are being submitted in the check post. The income tax department is not able to ascertain when the prize money and price of ticket raises. As per the new guide lines the information must be furnished other wise the goods won't be allowed to pass to Kerala.
