Thiruvananthapuram: Education minister M A Baby said that a discussion would be held with self financing managements on Thursday . Officials from health-education departments will also attend. He said that the government expect management to stood firm in the pact with government.
Earlier on Monday, the Supreme court observed that the self financing education sector has turned into a commercial establishment and is mearly a spoof. The SC also upheld the observation of the Kerala High Court that entrance admission to self financing medical colleges were not transparent. The SC made the observation while considering the petition filed by self financing managements against HC order.
The SC also denied to stay the HC order cancelling the common entrance examination to self financing medical management seats conduced by self financing colleges which had signed a pact with state government. The SC said that it can't interfere in a HC order.
The SC also directed to conduct admissions within 10 days from the public admission list prepared by the government. It also said if the managements are not able to find enough students they can approach the court again.
The Court also observed that the exams were not transparent and was conducted without the guidance of Justice Muhammad committee. The managements conducted exams without permission from the committee.
