UDF to strengthen action against rebels

Thiruvananthapuram: The UDF leadership makes it clear that strict action would be taken against rebels in the party , major weakness of the party for years. The party will approach stern stand that rebels from any party wound be placed out and should not entertain their expectation to come back to the party in next elections. UDF leadership is of the stand that before venturing into seat division talks, a consensus must be reached on the same. The seat division talks will begin on Wednesday in Kochi. The meet would also discuss the problems to be raised against LDF and election agendas. In the afternoon session talks will be held with Kerala Congress- Mani, Jacob, Balakrishna Pillai sections. Mani group claims, with merger of Joseph group they have the right for more seats as they must give the wards in which Mani group stood for polls previous time and in which Joseph group won. But Congress is of the view that the formula can't be accepted as previous time Joseph group fought as part of LDF , which was mostly against UDF contestants. If the formula is implemented UDF would be forced to give more seats to Kerala Congress . But it is also estimated that congress would also be ready for needed compromise in the last rounds of talks. Socialist Janatha Democratic will be given seats unitedly.
