Kochi: Three persons, who made fake letters of Railway officials authorising scrap dealers to collect railway scrap
lying in various stations, and siphoned off crores, were arrested by police here. The three-- G Mani (43), Binu P Chacko (34) and Unnikrishnan (39) are said to have made fake sale letters of the southern railways and uped various scrap agents.
The investigation against the three began following a complaint from one dealer who had lost about rs 25 lakh, police said.
Binu chacko was the mastermind of the racket and had been earlier arrested by police for masquerading as the personal assistant of a minister. Mani was a gangman with the railways and had helped in making the fake seal and letters of the Southern Railway deputy chief materials manager.Pti
