    Special squad to prevent fake country-made guns: Kodiyeri

    Malappuram : Home Minister, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, today said that a Special Squad will be formed in the police department to prevent the manufacture and sale of fake contry-made guns in Nilambur area. Speaking to mediapersons after visiting the house of Sub-inspector Vijayakrishnan, who was shot dead by an accused, when the official had gone to execute the arrest warrant, said that the special squad in cooperation with the Forest Department will take all measures in preventing the reported manaufacture and sales of country-made guns in the area.

    Balakrishnan said the incident had occured while the police officials were discharging their official duties and the incident
    was unexpected.

    Balakrishnan said 'when we examine the incident, we can see that the operation should have been initiated after verifying the
    past history of the accused'.

    Government will also take all possible steps for providing a job for the son of Vijaykrishnan, the minister said.

    Later, Balakrishnan went to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, where the body was kept for the post mortem.

    Director General of Police Jacob Punnoose and ADGP Mahesh Kumar Singla, also visited Vijayakrishnan's house.
