EC asks DC act on MCC violation complaint

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Election Commission Sunday directed the Malappuram district collector to submit a report on the complaint filed by MLA Joseph M Puthusserry, charging Local Bodies Minister Pai Muhammed Kutty of violating the model code of conduct. The Commission asked the district collector to submit the report within two days on the complaint that the Minister had used official vehicle to attend an election campaign programme, a release said here.

Puthusserry charged Kutty of using his official vehicle while the model code of conduct was in force in the state as the elections to the civic body was announced.
