Security guards quizzed on Madani's Kodagu visit

Bangalore: The prime level questioning of PDP chairman Abdul Naser Madani's former security guards ended on Monday. It is reported that the three had not given clear information about Madani's Kodagu visit. Sajeevan, a constable from Wayanad, was not present on Monday due to delay in getting permission for travel. The team, led by Bangalore city police joint commissioner Alok Kumar, questioned the three constables Shajahan, Nabeel and Basheer. It is learnt that the police got some information from Shahjahan and he might be questioned later. It is reported that the three of them did not state anything favorable or unfavorable to Madani. Nabeel informed police that he was not acting as the guard at the time of the blast conspiracy. He presented a copy of the appointment letter by the Kerala police. He acted as a guard from March 2009 and the blast had occurred on July 25, 2008.

But Shajahan and Basheer, who were the security guards at that time, gave statement that B-category security offered by Kerala police was not very strict. Though general information on the journeys were recorded, not much details were sought. They said they are not aware whether Madani went to Kodagu or not. Meanwhile, one of the investigation officer said that there are some contradictions in the statement given by Shajahan and Basheer.
