Thiruvananthapuram : The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Abdul Nasser Madani, will contest alone in the coming civic polls in Kerala.
The party sources today said that the party would field candidates to all the seats in the coming local body elections.
''In the Last Lok Sabha Elections, the party had extended its support to the Left Democratic Front (LDF). But, this time it will extend issue-based support to LDF,'' the sources said.
Mr Madani, an accused in the 2008 Bangalore blasts case, was arrested from Kerala recently in connection with the case by the Bangalore police.
Meanwhile, PDP Working Chairman Poonthura Siraj told yesterday that the party district units would be free to have adjustments in the local level.
However, he clarified that party had not entered into any kind of alliance with the Congress-led UDF or CPI(M)-led LDF in the state level.
But, the official leadership of CPI(M) denied any kind of election ties with the PDP in the coming election.
In the last Lok Sabha elections, prominent leaders of both the CPI(M) and the PDP shared the dias during the election campaign, inviting strong criticism.
