Sreesanth, who missed the first Test match between India and Australia at Mohali, is poised to play in the second Test in Bangalore as Ishant Sharma was been ruled out due to injury.

Shastri said Sreesanth should take a leaf out of Ishant's superlative performance in the test match and play well for the country, if given an opportunity.

Referring to the Mohali test in which India won the match in a cliff-hanger, Shastri said he was very privilged to be present there as part of the commetating team.

'' The Mohali test match was a great endorsement for test cricket,'' he noted.

Show cause notices have been given to three IPL teams.'' The BCCI had issued show-cause notices to the Kochi IPL team along with Kings XI Punjab annd Rajasthan Royals over financial matters and ownership issues at its AGM on September 29.

'' It shows the character and self-belief of the team,'' he added.

Referring to cricket in Kerala, Shastri said it was important that infrastructure should be developed in schools, not only in cities but in all districts.

He said there was immense talent in the state and it ought to contribute more Test players to the country.

Shastri also stressed that the need of the hour was to have administrators with credibility, intergrity and honesty to make sure that the cricket infrastructure was put in place for the budding cricketers.
