Kayamkulam: A hotel employee was found hanging after police conducted a raid at the hotel. It is alleged that the employee, Rajeev, 32, from Chavara who was working as a receptionist, commited suicide due to mental torture by the police.
It is also alleged that the police had tried to book him in immoral trafficking case. The statement by the hotel owner's son Javed, who was in the hotel during the raid, led to the suspicion. As per Javed, a police team, led by ASI of Kayamkulam police station, raided the hotel at 2 am. Police booked a girl from Alappuzha from that hotel.
When Rajeev reached the room from where the girl was arrested, police captured a picture of him along with the girl and asked for money threatening to expose the picture to the media. Javed said the girl came with a youth for booking a room and when they were denied a room, the youth had gone out to to hire an auto and the police too reached the spot at the same time.
