Kannur: The relatives of Communist leader CPM leader AK Gopalan, moved court against blocking the demolition of house of AKG `Goapalavilasam' in Peralassery by the CPM leaders. The family also received a favorable order from the court blocking the entry of Peralassery panchayath president and CPM local leaders to the house premises.
For GV Sadasivan, the present owner of AKG's house, his sister GV Bhavani went to the court though advocate KK Balaram in the Thalassery Munsif court. CPM peralassery branch secretary OP Achuthan, former panchayath vice president K V Balan, CPM Mavilay local secretary K Purushothaman, panchayath president PV Bhaskaran are the opponent parties. Thalassery munsif R Suresh Kumar issued an order that opponent parties or others interested would never invade in the house premises and cause destruction to the property owned by Sadasivan. Court also issued an order to send notice to them to present in the court on November 4. Earlier cultural minister M A Baby and CPM leaders stated that AKG's house would be made protected monument. The panchayath ruled by CPM at first gave sanction for demolishing the house as per which the process began on June 16, 2010. But on June 21 CPM leaders including panchayath president came to block the same.
