Palakakd: The forensic report has confirmed that the fire in the head office of Megha Distributors, the wholesale distributors of Sikkim and Bhutan lotteries, was not natural. It was established that the office and the computers were set on fire intentionally after pouring diesel and engine oil. Police registered a case against Megha Distributors under Section 436 for setting the office on fire. The case which was investigated by Palakkad South SI was taken over by DySP MK Pushkaran. It was also found that even before the police reached the spot, important evidences were destroyed.
Earlier `Mathrubhumi' had reported that though the presence of chemicals were found, the chemical examination was being delayed. With this the home department speeded up the probe. The fact of the incident which occurred on September 12 came to light when the forensic report was out stating that the mixture of diesel and engine oil were sprinkled over the roof, computers and furnitures and later set on fire.
