Malappuram : Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State President, Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal, today said that United Democratic Front (UDF), in which IUML is a constituent, would achieve impressive victory, in the civic polls.
Speaking to mediapersons after casting his vote at Panakkad L P School near here, Thangal said the polling has
been going on peacefully in Malappuram and UDF was certain to improve its performance.
Former minister and IUML State General Secretary, P K Kunhalikutty said UDF will sweep the local body election in
the state.
Meanwhile, at Kannur in Pattuvam where repoll was progressing tension prevailed as the UDF camp alleged casting
of large number of bogus votes.
Miscreants also threw country-made bomb at the police force, but none was injured.
Kannur District Congress Committee, President P Ramakrishnan had urged the Election commission to stop polling
