Thiruvananthapuram: Air India cancelled 434 more services to Gulf countries from Thiruvananthapuram airport till February 28, 2011 with 24 flights each week. The same was announced in the winter schedule of service which came to existence from Sunday.
Earlier Air India suspended more than 300 services till October 27, which invited wide criticism. In this Aviation Minister Praful Patel intervened and ensured that no such steps would be taken and cancelled services would reinstated. But majority of the service are not reinstated yet.
Air India tried out secret operation this time too in cancelling the flights as people came to know about the same only after the schedule was published on Sunday. The flights were canceled as two flights on Sunday, five in Mondays, eight in Tuesdays, four each in Wednesday and Thursday and one on Saturday.
Air India gave clarification that they have sustained service with more then 70 % travelers.
