Palakkad: Mathrubhumi-Kalpathi music festival will begin on Monday. The six-day festival to be held in DK Pattammal Nagar in Kalpathi Manlier road, noted musicians will deliver 10 concerts. The fest, jointly organized by Mathrubhumi and District Tourism Promotion Council, would be inaugurated by the union minister Mullappally Ramachandran on Monday evening.
KK Divakaran MLA will preside, KE Ismail MP; Mathrubhumi marketing and electronics Media director M V Shreyamskumar MLA will be the chief guests.
On Syamasasthri day on Monday, Sanjay Subramaniam will perform Carnatic music. On Tuesday, Purandaradas day Ambikapuram Sivaraman and Prof Mysore Nagamani Sreenath will deliver concerts.
On Sawthithirunal Day on Wednesday Palakakd School of Music will deliver Sangeetharchana to be followed by Gayathriveena concert by Vijayalakshmi, Sangeetharchana by music students from Chitoor Govt. College and VR Dileep Kumar's Carnatic concert.
On Muthuswami Dik****har day on Thursday, concerts would be performed by Sreeranjini Snathanagopalan, Trichur Brothers Sreekrishana Mohan and Ramkumar Mohan.
On Papanamshamsivam day on Friday the main concert would be performed by N Vijayasiva. Panthalam S Navneet and students from Palakkad Chembai Memorial Music College will also perform.
On the concluding day on Saturday, Thyagarajaswami day, music director Sarath will perform.
Home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will inaugurate the concluding ceremony.
