Thiruvananthapuram, : A nationwide 48 hours strike, called by National Federation of Akashavani and Doordarshan Employees Associations, partially affected the operations of Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR), here today.
Employees were demanding removal of the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990, according to agitating employees unions, here today.
All the Doordarshan and the AIR staff, earlier who were part of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, have been placed under Prasar Bharati after the Act came into effect.
Out of above 400 employees, as many as 200 staff in the engineering division were on strike, they said.
