Bangalore: B S Yedyurappa who was defined as a spot free RSS activist was trapped by his sons and family members who had avid interests in real estates. Yedyurappa is under scanner for allegations relating to real estate companies owned by his sons Raghavendra, Vijayendra and other relatives. Three real estate companies are owned by his two sons. The reason for the current crisis is that Yedyurappa had issued them as government land breaching law.
Though Yedyurappa had interests in business right from a very young age, his sons flourished it. When BS Raghavendran became an MP from Shimoga, the business interests got a shot in the arm. Yedyurappa, who was born in Bukkanakkara, had a job in the social welfare department after securing a degree. Later he set up a hardware shop in Shimoga in 1965 and entered politics. When he became active in politics, his sons took over his business responsibilities.
The prominent companies in Karnataka like Bhagath Home Private Ltd, Devalagiri Property Developers, Candar Solutions, Sahyanthiri Healthcare, Fluid Power Technologies, BPO compnies in the states are owned by his sons and relatives. These companies also are in the forefront for the wrong reasons.
After coming to power, the CM always took a favorable decision supporting the real estate sector. The CM also never forgot to give land to his sons when the government took over land and re-notified it. When the land price were witnessing a steep hike, the CM gave land at a cheap price to his sons.
As many as 25 acres of land were given in this fashion. As a face-saving attempt after the scam came to light, he returned a small portion of the land.
