Kochi: CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI state secretary C K Chandrappan unleashed a war of words on Wednesday. Pinarayi's reaction to the earlier statements by Chandrappan that in needed situations a tie up can be made with the Congress, paved way for a heated verbal war. Pinarayi at a press meet in Thiruvananthapuram said that Chandrappan must not forget the fact that emergency was the result of one such tie-up with the Congress and feels a person like him should never have uttered that.
Chandrappan while replying to that in Kochi said when the party had an alliance with the Congress in recent times, it was not only the CPI but also CPM which stood for it. Chandrappan reacted to Pinarayi's statement on Lavlin too. Pinarayi pooh poohed Chandrappan's opinion.
Chandrappan said CPI leaders were also charged in corruption allegations and all of them faced it legally and that is the style of Communism. The same is applicable to Lavlin also and Pinarayi must face the same legally.
Chandrappan earlier also said that he expects MP Veerendrakumar to return to the front and Pinarayi reacted that Chandrappan is not able to understand the situations in Kerala as he was absent for some time. Veerendrakumar left LDF because of his love towards UDF.
Chandrappan said Pinarayi should never forget that he was elected as MP three times and MLA from Kerala and also acted for years on behalf of the Kisan Sabha and youth movements.
