Kozhikode : Kerala Retail Ration Dealers Assciation (KRRDA) today announced its support to the India Fair Price Shop Dealers Federation in protest against the proposed move to privatise ration depots in the country.
Talking to newspersons here. KRRDA President C Surendran said all the ration depots in the state would remain closed on December 7 as part of the agitation.
He said the proposal to privatise the sector would jeopardise public distribution system in the country.
Other demands included revision of National Food Security Act (NSA), review of Supreme Court directive on opening of ration shops throughout the week and rollback decision to restrict licence for five years, he added.
