Eight appointments in Wayanad with fake PSC orders

Thiruvananthapuram/Wayanad: It is learnt that many persons have been appointed to government services by producing fake Joining Orders and Advice Memos of the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC). The department inspection on Saturday found 6 persons, hailing from Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram and Malappuram districts, to have been appointed Village Assistants and LD Clerks under the Revenue Department by producing fake Joining Orders and Advice Memos of the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC). Suraj S Krishnan from Thiruvananthapuram, VP Premjith, K P Vimal, T Gopakumar, A Jyothi from Kollam and K B Shamseera from Sulthan Bathery have secured jobs through fake PSC joining orders. The number of persons who had entered into government service through forgery has gone up to eight. Two people were caught the other day. Kannan, 28 and his brother Sabarinath from Kollam were apprehended earlier. Both were blacksmith in Kollam. Kannan is a graduate and Sabarinath passed SSLC and ITC.

District Collector T Bhaskaran suspended them on Friday after it was found that they had secured government jobs in Revenue offices in the district by producing forged documents. A clerk in the A-1 section of the Collectorate, Abhilash from Thiruvananthapuram, was also suspended. Suraj S Krishna was appointed as a LD clerk in Bathery survey office, Premjith in Panamaram village office, Vimal Jyothi in Mananthavadi Taluk office , Shamseera and Kannan in Bathery taluk office and Sabrinatha as village assistant in Anchukunnu village office.

The district collector T. Bhaskaran has informed that a probe will be conducted to find out whether there was any fraud in the appointments in the Revenue Department since 2005.District Collector said that the employees had joined duty in June-end by producing forged documents, including advice memos and hall tickets of the PSC.

Moreover, these employees had not reported for work after the issue came to light and the corresponding files relating to their appointments had gone missing from the Collectorate, Bhaskaran added. Action would be taken after discussions with the officials concerned, he added. The Collector directed the Superintendent of Police and the Deputy Superintendent of police (Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau) to conduct investigations in the case.

The scam came to light when a group of PSC candidates from Kollam district complained to the Revenue Vigilance that many persons, even those who had not appeared for the KPSC exam, had secured government jobs, especially in the Revenue Department in Wayanad district by producing forged documents.
