Kozhikode : Kozhikode Police Commkissioner, P Vijayan, has been chosen for 'for the sake of honour' award,
instituted by the Rotary Club of Calicut Midtown, for the outstanding service and help to society beyond the call of
duty. The award is the highest recognition given by Rotary to non-Rotarians for providing outstanding service and help to
society beyond the call of duty, a release from Rotary Club of Calicut Midtown, said here.
The unanimous decision for the selection was in consideration of the various social service activities Vijayan
has undertaken in our city especially in spreadheading a dertermined camapaign with sincerity and determination to curb
juvenile crime at the root level through projects like 'Nanma', it said.
The award will be presented to Vijayan on December 10, the release said. PTI
