Kochi: The Kerala government would be making earnest efforts to implement the Smart City Project in Kochi promoted as joint venture with the Dubai-based Tecom, Fisheries Minister, S Sarma, today said. Sarma, who is also the chairman of the project, told reporters on the sidelines of the ICT Summit here, the government had welcomed mediatory role played by M A Yousuf Ali, NRI businessman and director of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to resolve the differences of opinion between Tecom and state government.
Sarma however declined to comment on the details or conditions of talks between Ali and Tecom representatives. The second edition of the India ICT Summit, being organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries, is a high
profile ICT event in the state with several eminent national and international stalwarts participating. Over 400 delegates including senior government officials, leaders from the private sector, trade associations, political leaders are participating in the summit.
