Thiruvananthapuram : Christians in Kerala celebrated Christmas with religious fervour and enthusiasm today which was on a low key following the demise of veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister K Karunakaran.
The four-time Chief Minister of the state was cremated today at Thrissur.
After the traditional special midnight mass, thousands of Christians attended the mass in churches again in the morning.
Churches across the state were decked up with stars illuminated with colourful lights.
People belonging to other communities also joined the celebrations.
They exchanged gifts and pleasantries, marking the occasion.
