Fraudulent postings to co-op banks to be probed

Kannur: Minister G Sudhakaran stated that the government would oust those who had gained jobs in co-operative banks fraudulently. The action is on the basis of a report in Mathrubhumi which unleashed the fraudulent appointments in co-operative banks. The Minister told `Mathrubhumi' that the issue is serious and asked the co-operative registrar to furnish reports. He said the probe would be on whether the Bank ruling committee had made appointments illegally to posts in which PSC is entitiled to do appointments, promotions beyond the ratio prescribed by government order, promotions covering the ratio prescribed by PSC.

The minister said that apart from that the issues cited in Mathrubhumi report would also be probed.

He said in some of the district co-operative banks too, illegal appointments were made. The bank ruling committee is forced to give promotion under pressure from employees unions. The delays posed by PSC in appointments too add to the problem.
