    High-end laptops for MLAs

Members of the Legislative Assembly are set to get feature-rich laptops during the budget session of the Assembly likely to begin from February 17.

The MLAs will be given the notebook-sized laptops with state-of-the-art features.

A special feature of the notebooks will be the “constituency monitoring software”, developed specifically for the MLAs, to keep a tab on the activities and developments in their respective constituencies.

Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar told The Hindu that the distribution of the laptops would be accompanied by a five-day intense training to the elected representatives to enable them effectively use their new devices with seamless net connectivity.

He said the Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute in association with the Centre for Good Governance would provide the training to the MLAs. The notebooks would also be equipped with blue ray and 3G technology packages
