State files petition in HC to ban Bhutan lottery
Kochi: The state government on Tuesday filed an appeal in HC to direct the centre to ban Bhutan lottery. There are many violation of guidelines have been taking place in relation to the sales of Bhutan lotteries. Though the state had written many times to the centre pointing this, no steps were taken against this. The Butan lottery is being sold after violating the section 4 of Central lottery act. The contract entered by the Bhutan government with the wholesale and agents of lottery are against the act. The state had been filing petition to the centre for the last five years. Earlier the HC made it clear that the centre has the power to take action against the other state lotteries and the order was also furnished with the petition.
