Thrissur : Dr Vayala Vasudevan Pillai (Drama), Palkulangara Ambika Devi (Music) and Annamanada Parmeswara Marar (Panchavadyam) have been selected for this year's Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Akademi Fellowships.
The fellowship is Rs 30,000, a citation and Plank each. This was announced by the Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Akademi Chairman Mukesh in a news conference here today.
The following 18 persons have been selected for the awards of Rs 15,000, a citation and a plank each.
Dr Cherthala K N Ranganatha Sharma (Classical Music-Vocal), K V Prasad (Mridangam), FACT Padmanabhan (Kathakali Vesham), Madambi Subramanian Namboodiri (Kathakali Sangeetham).
Kalamandalam Narayanan Nair (Madhalam), Mathur Govindankutty (Kathakalivesham), Geetha Salam (Drama), Methil Devika (Nritham- Mohiniyattam), Machadu Ramakrishnan Nair (Kombu).
Cheruthazham Chandran (Thayambaka), Marayamuttam Johny (Kathaprasangam), Girija Varma (Lalita sangeetam), Kottayam Nazeer (Sabdhanukaranam), T T Prabakaran (Radio Natakam), T H Lalitha (Violin), Jayaraj Warrier (Caricature), K P Gopalan (Drama-Direction), A E Asharaff (Drama-Light) The Akademi also selected 15 eminent persons for the special award of Rupees Twenty Thousand, Citation and Plank each in connection with the Tagore Jayanthi.
